What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a skin-improving treatment that enables the skin to repair and renew itself. During the treatment, tiny holes are made in the skin, causing us to deliberately ‘damage’ the skin, as it were. As a natural response to this, the production of elastin and collagen is stimulated.

How many treatments do you need?

I regularly see wonderful results after just one treatment. Because the skin renews itself in 28 -40 days, the result becomes increasingly beautiful after weeks. To achieve the best results, I often recommend 3 – 6 treatments. If you want to do multiple microneedling treatments, there is a 4 – 6 week interval between each treatment. This way the skin can recover sufficiently.

Recovery

After the treatment, it is possible to resume your activities immediately. The skin may feel slightly sensitive or tight and may be redder in color. It is important that the skin is not exposed to the sun, and tanning beds are also not recommended.

After the treatment

Any sensitivity or redness of the skin is short-lived. I advise you to take good care of the skin and optimally protect it against UV radiation. I will provide you with tailor-made advice so that the skin is optimally cared for and protected.

Can microneedling be used after a filler or botox treatment?

After a filler treatment, the use of needles longer than 0.3 mm is not recommended, because this can cause the filler to break down more quickly. The area around it can be treated. Botox needs at least two weeks to work optimally. Microneedling is not advised during this period.
